St. Petersburg Russia - About City

If you think that St. Petersburg is about history, art and fun you are right. Most people don’t know how fun this city can be. It is also a safe place despite the problems. Sex and love are in the air. People are kissing on the streets, in the stores, in the metro and on the canal bridges. It is not unusual to see two high school girls sitting in the front of Hermitage drinking beer and having a chat. Girls walk together holding hands, men kiss each other. Hangovers are common. The people in this city enjoy their lives with their entire mind, body and spirit. St. Petersburg is the wild, wild, wild east and we love it!  It is a city of faith, Hope and Love.

The best time to visit St. Petersburg is May through early September. But it can be fun any time even in the winter. Where in the world would you come to a cafeteria for breakfast with a bottle of vodka? Where in the world would a waiter bring you an empty glass without question? Right here, in my St. Petersburg!

Museums and the ballet are only part of city life. There is much more! Boat rides along the Neva River and the canals, and carriage rides on Nevski (the main street) prospect offer a view of the life and history of St. Petersburg. Did you know St Petersburg was built on a swamp? There are great buildings everywhere which make you to wish that you lived here. There is always a party somewhere and people to meet. You will see more police in downtown than you want but they will not bother you. There is a circus where you will sit for two hours with your mouth open in amazement. There is the Finish gulf and there is no better place to see it.
