| Russian book store Easy Book review of Books about Russia or Russians Russian history, culture, native believes, St Petersburg, revolution, terrorism PetersburgThis novel is an interesting visit into a history of Russian Empire. It is a story of the wealthy inventor and his love with a young Russian dame from a poor noble family in Russia on the edge of 20th century. The book is very well written but smells as a Hollywood scenario and is just as predictable sometimes. On the other hand it has some pleasant surprises. The story is filtered through an American mind but kept some genuine observation of Russian culture. It will take you through drinking Champaign, vodka and tea. It will tell you about Russian sauna and some of the native believes. The book incorporated some research on the subject of Russian terrorism and revolutionary activity. It even tell you how to make explosives (chill it is not in details). Most of the events take place in St Petersburg, Siberia and Crimea. Some of the facts appear as someone who emigrated from Russia and was an eyewitness to the events revealed them to the author. I recommend this book to anyone who has interest in Modern Russian affairs and want to learn some of the Russian history in a fun way. It would be a helpful reading for some of those men seeking Russian mail-order-brides. Are you young, ambitious or ready for an adventure? Then you need to meet these guys.
