St Petersburg Russia - Music CDs and Video games - Fridge magnets - Army surplus
Among those that have a universal appeal are Music CDs and Video games, Video
DVD s. One buy here the same compact disks as one can by in Europe for 20, 30, 50
Euro, etc. They are cheap here! Some go for as low as 2$ each (new). Some tourists get so
excited that they buy dozens! Some people claim that their trips to St Petersburg were
worth it just because of these purchases!
For those who like army surplus items there are several small stores that supply
outdoorsmen. Much of the cloth and footwear is brand new in many sizes VERY CHEAP! The
most popular items are marine long sleeve shorts and t-shirts since this city is located
on the sea. Here you find hats, belts, shoulder packs also. We do not sell guns but if you
wish to go on adventure tour
and shoot at the military range a fully automatic AK-47 no problem! This is legal
and contracted!
There is a downtown souvenir market. Here one can find Martyoshka dolls, hand
made chess sets, painted jewelry boxes, souvenirs etc. The only trouble is that if you are
a foreigner the prices are much higher! If you are by yourself you will pay more then if
you are with a friend who is local. The prices and items are still attractive but not as
reasonable as they could be. You will not find here truly small and inexpensive
items for the office co-workers such as fridge magnets
etc. If you wish to purchase those magnets, you have to contact
us in advance! We offer a number of different designs some of which hand painted
at an equivalent of three Euro apiece (when you buy at least ten).
We offer a one-day shopping tour that takes you to any these places with a
shopping guide/driver and a car for 4 people! It takes 100 Euro
for 10 hours. If you contact us at least one week in
advance and reveal your interests, the guide will prepare logistics and insure
availability of these items.
