There are other metaphoric names that compare this city to Paris, London, and Venice. It was call a "window to Europe". We call it the city of Faith, Hope and Love. It has many churches, mosque, synagogue etc. After the revolution Moscow became apolitical capital of the Union and St Petersburg became a "city of Revolution". Today the city is searching for it identity again. Most of the summer events are tailored to the visitors.
